Guys are always looking for the perfect “pickup line” to sweep a girl off her feet. Sorry to tell you, but it doesn’t exist.
When introducing yourself, what you say isn’t nearly as important as how you say it.
The primary way we communicate with others is through non-verbal communication. This includes our posture, eye contact, facial expressions, tone of voice, and even our touch.
Whether you’re conscious of it or not, your body language says a tremendous amount about you.
Focus On Simple, Honest Presentation
I used to focus too much on finding the right words to say and often psyched myself out. Eventually, I got fed up and decided to say the first thing that came to mind.
- “Those sunglasses are sweet!”
- “I thought you were cute and wanted to say hi.“
- “I bet you go to MassArt, don’t you?”
- “You have such a bad-ass rocker style.”
- And the simple, “Hey, I’m Nick.”
I acted naturally and it translated directly into my interactions. Women responded positively and felt more comfortable because the non-verbal signals I sent out were fun, relaxed, and confident.
Being myself also gave me more time to listen to her and be in the moment.
Think about George Clooney or Will Smith. How would they walk up and introduce themselves?
They’d be smiling, warm, and expressive. They’d have a swagger and confidence that is contagious to everyone around them – fame and fortune aside. At that point, the words coming out of their mouth don’t matter much.

If I haven’t driven it home enough, there’s no point in agonizing over what to say to a girl. It’s better to spend your time remembering to smile, stand tall, and stay calm.
With time and experience, you’ll learn how to adapt in various situations and be able to go with the flow. The best part is, it’ll actually be you.
